    Description

    Compassionate Speaking

    April 11 | Noon-1pm | At CCHE & Zoom

Partners and Facilitators: Nina McCune and Enno Limvere

Effective communication is about more than just expressing your thoughts—it’s about being heard and fostering real understanding. In this interactive session, we’ll explore how to share your perspectives in a way that invites meaningful conversation rather than putting others on the defensive. We’ll begin by revisiting one of the most challenging aspects of communication: truly listening to another person. From there, we’ll consider how to speak in a way that is both supportive and understanding, drawing inspiration from the Buddhist concept of “compassionate speaking.” This approach encourages kindness, encouragement, and an open invitation for dialogue. Through discussion and hands-on practice in pairs or small groups, participants will engage with different frameworks for thoughtful and empathetic communication, strengthening their ability to connect with others.

Being religious or being spiritual are the two sides of the same coin. We are to love and have a relationship with God. We are to love and have a relationship with each other. When we ignore either one, we just neglect a part of our faith.
